A Road to Somewhere

Exhibit x Set Design

Application: Rhino

Inspired by the works of renowned German dancer and choreographer, Pina Bausch, I designed and modeled an outdoor multi-stage dance performance set situated at the edge of an abandoned bridge.

Chrono

Exhibit x Experiential Design

Application: Rhino

This exhibit engages the viewer with a 30-day timeline of female chronobiology. It showcases hormone fluctuations within the human body pertaining to our natural circadian, infradian and ultradian rhythms. Viewers engage with this information through signage, imagery and digital art pieces on LED screens. The tracked fluctuations take place over a 4-week period in line with the phases of a female cycle. 2 screens on either side of the gallery will gradually increase in brightness relative to which week of the cycle the exhibit has entered into; this further emphasizes the shifts in hormones during a monthly cycle particularly for the biological female body.

Before exiting, visitors will peer up to see a ceiling fixture of sea algae and composite material which, over time, will decay and shed into the basin below until the exhibit’s close; a live commentary on the human body’s cycles of decay and re-growth.
